Fresh Arts regularly hosts free or low-cost career-building programming that aim to increase artist business skills and peer networks, whether it be taxes, business plans, marketing, grant writing, etc. As with all of our program offerings, our professional development curriculum is designed to work with artists across all disciplines.

ABOUT FRESH ARTS WORKSHOPS

Led by local subject matter experts, Fresh Arts workshops offer a nuts-and-bolts approach to provide introductory level information on various business fundamentals.

Past workshop curriculum has covered a variety of topics including Artist Taxes, Social Media 101, Intro to Public Art, Writing for the Media and more. Since 2009, Fresh Arts has hosted 150+ in person skill-building workshops for local artists and creatives.

In 2020, Fresh Arts hosted 40+ virtual conversations and workshops featuring 60 local artists and arts partners and reached over 43,000 viewers in our community and across the country. We addressed critical issues like emergency funding, income stream adaptation, health and self-care, digital audience engagement, and a four-part series on equity in the arts.

ABOUT FRESH ARTS PEERLABS

Fresh Arts’ PeerLabs are peer-to-peer learning workshops designed to provide artists with a collaborative and small group-style learning experience.

PeerLab participants work together to navigate a specific topic area through applied activities, open discussion, and peer reviews.

Upcoming PeerLab sessions will include Grant Reviews, Artist Statement + Bio Peer Reviews, Goal Setting Exercises, and more.
