Fiscal Sponsorship

Fiscal Sponsorship opens doors to new streams of project support for artist-led projects and organizations.

Fresh Arts’ Fiscal Sponsorship program has unlocked over $1 million of project support for 75+ artist-led projects and organizations across all artistic disciplines in Greater Houston since 2013.

Fresh Arts provides Model C Fiscal Sponsorship, extending our 501(c)3 nonprofit status to mission-aligned projects fostering new, community-based work that contributes to Houston’s cultural vibrancy. This initiative empowers artist-led collaborations, collectives, and community organizers existing outside the traditional nonprofit model, facilitating access to resources like tax-deductible donations, grants, city contracts, in-kind donations, sales tax exemptions, fiscal oversight, and consultation services to enhance professional skills.
Our sponsored projects represent cultures and communities from all over Houston and have included small dance companies (salsa, contemporary, African diaspora), multilingual theatre troupes (Spanish, French, Urdu, and English), musical ensembles, mural festivals, and more. Many projects have used Fresh Arts’ fiscal sponsorship program as a launching pad to start their own successful nonprofits.

Contributions for sponsored projects must be made payable to Fresh Arts and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by the law.
