Info Session: 2026 Space Taking Artist Residency Application

Fresh Arts invites artists interested in applying to the 2026 Space Taking Artist Residency (STAR) program to join us for a virtual info session.

This session will provide an overview of the residency, including program goals, expectations, available resources, and how artists are selected. We’ll also walk through application requirements and share tips for preparing a strong proposal. The presentation will close with an open Q&A, so bring your questions!

About the Space Taking Artist Residency

Launched in Spring 2021, The Space Taking Artist Residency is an annual residency that provides guidance and support to two emerging and mid-career artists or artist teams. Now in its sixth year, the residency calls back to the organization’s roots proudly serving as a launch pad for artists to “take over” a space for the purposes of developing and executing a creative project and hosting a series of public programs. This residency, powered by Fresh Arts, is an opportunity for traditionally underrepresented local artists to experiment and “take over” a public space in new and out-of-the box ways.
