ABOUT THE PROJECT
The annual BIPOC Book Fest is a celebration centered on underrepresented voices through a showcase of literary works that feature Black, Indigenous, People of Color and other creatives of marginalized communities.
BIPOC Book Fest will host a big celebration this spring to honor its fifth year as an organization and to amplify artists of color in Houston. To kick-off festivities, we will have an open mic night on Wednesday, April 29th. This event will feature talented poets, delicious food, and books for sale. On Saturday, May 2nd , we will host our second day of festivities at Sanman Studios. We are planning to host a film screening and a panel discussion featuring BIPOC creatives representing art, book, and film. BIPOC Book Fest’s purpose is to amplify voices of color and provide a platform for authors, artists, and creatives of color to share and sell their work.
