Launched in 2019, Houston's only multi-disciplinary professional development conference designed for and by Houston-area creatives spanning all disciplines.
OVERVIEW
The Fresh Arts Artist Summit provides a comprehensive and immersive experience for artists, offering them the tools and connections needed to succeed in their creative endeavors. By blending professional development with community-building activities, the Summit fosters a stronger, more connected arts community in Houston.
The Summit weekend event features a dynamic mix of sessions covering a range of topics such as marketing and self-promotion, goal setting, artist cooperatives, and sustainability in the arts.
Sessions are led by over two dozen organizational partners and field experts, including practicing artists and other creative leaders working in the arts community. Building on the success of our virtual Summits in 2020 and 2021, select conference sessions and materials are also available online to accommodate remote participants.
PAST PRESENTERS
To date, the Fresh Arts Summit has attracted 700+ attendees and featured over 100 local and regional artists as presenters, panelists, and keynote speakers cementing Houston’s status as a leading hub of creativity and talent.
Past speakers have included three poet laureates, renowned musician Kam Franklin (The Suffers), and influential leaders from local and regional organizations like Project Row Houses, Galveston Arts Center, Austin Music Foundation, and dozens more.
